Why was your bookstore founded/what role does it play in the community?

The idea of our bookstore arose from Katie’s love of books. She wanted to share that love with as many people as possible, no matter who they are or where they are from. We believe that everyone has a right to be able to read and read whatever they want to.

What makes your bookstore unique?

While focusing on inclusivity, we also have a passion for sustainability. Through our everyday practices, we try to be more environmentally friendly with our office supplies, shipping materials, cleaning supplies, and everything that is used at the store. Anything we can do to help protect our Earth, we strive to make adjustments for.

What is something that no one knows about your bookstore?

Few people know that the owner, Katie, is neurodiverse. She was diagnosed with a type of dyslexia as a child that affects her reading. But that has never stopped her from loving books all the same. All it did was create a desire to help others learn about the joys of reading, whether they are neurodiverse, queer, disabled, or any other type of person.
