Why was your bookstore founded/what role does it play in the community?

Molly’s Bookstore is a locally owned independent bookstore based in Melrose, Massachusetts.
We are committed to offering a quality selection of new and affordable books, as well as gifts
and educational items for customers of all ages and backgrounds.
We are passionate about the written word and seek to share our love of reading to help create
and sustain a community of lifelong readers. We strive to provide a welcoming and nurturing
environment to encourage the healthy exchange of ideas by hosting numerous readings, book
groups, and panel presentations.
We are committed to helping build a stronger community by providing a space for children, and
young adults to meet and exchange ideas. We will be a welcoming space for the community to
come together.

What makes your bookstore unique?

Molly’s Bookstore highlights new voices across many different communities to embrace
diversity. And we’re the only Latinx owned bookstore in Massachusetts!

What is something that no one knows about your bookstore?

Our mascot, Molly, is based on a real dog!
