Why was your bookstore founded/what role does it play in the community?

My bookstore was founded so that Black and Brown kids will be able to see themselves in a book or a toy and know that someone out there understands them. That they aren’t alone, and that there’s so much out there in the world beyond their hometown. I feel as though our role in our community is to be a resource and a place where people feel valued.

Which champion/warrior/wildcat (real or mythological) does your bookstore channel most?

Hmm… I guess a black panther! Lol.

What makes your bookstore unique?

Well… I’m not just a bookseller. I also dabble in art and crafting, and I sell some of my creations.
